EXPLANATION: Jim wrote to us back in March of 2004, that his sister, living in Seattle, WA, knew a lady from Medicine Lake, in the northeast parts of Montana.
The following pictures were eventually received by Jim, through his sister and this connection of friends.
The pictures were taken near Wesby.
This area is called "The Flats," and in case you don't know why J , it's because there are absolutely no trees there. It is all snow.
As Jim would say, if there are any "northerners" living in the southern climes of these good ol' United States, who THINK they miss this stuff, well dig your snow shovels into this.
Imagine if you will for a moment, you're barreling along on your favorite two-lane road outside Wesby, Montana (yep - there's road under there), and you notice up ahead that there is a commotion going on, at the horizon, like some folks are having a humongous snow ball fight, in the middle of the day, right in the road...
... So you cautiously get closer...
... And closer...
... And then you discover that it's the state highway maintenance vehicles, trying to clear the road, because your two-lane road has narrowed to one-lane, due to wind and drifts. Now there's a job for some guys who love big tools and heavy equipment. Snow shovels indeed! Bet they never saw snow plows like that anywhere in Texas!!!
